Happy Valentine's Day

I did a little baking for my Valentine's.  First I made Blueberry Muffins for breakfast.  Yum.  (No picture, sorry!)  Then I made these yummy looking chocolate cookies!

The recipe is easy and quick.

1 box of Chocolate Cake Mix
1 1/2 TBSP all purpose flour
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
*Optional - I added 1 cup of chocolate chips.  I wanted to use red M&M's but I forgot to pick some up.
Sprinkles

1.  Preheat oven 350
2. Mix cake mix, flour, butter, eggs, and vanilla with electric mixer.
3. Stir in chocolate chips or M&M's.
4. Spill some sprinkles onto a plate.  Form dough into tablespoon size balls and dip top in sprinkles.
5.  Bake on ungreased baking sheet for 10 minutes.  Let cool 10 minutes then take off cookie sheet and place on cooling rack to finish cooling.

I love a recipe that is easy and delicious!  The cookies turn out nice and chewy and moist.  Chocolate lovers better try this one.

Ya'll have a nice day.  Hug the ones you love.  Spread the love!

Sister's Birthday Gift

I just had to do Mark's idea - and he helped me - to make a gift for Nancy for her birthday.  I had seen this little poem about growing up with a sister and thought it was perfect.  So we went to several thrift stores looking for the perfect sized canvas picture and after only two stops - found it! This is the canvas with the letters I stuck on it and I began there in the bottom corner to paint it a dark brown.  The canvas is a golden with thin trees and some words in cursive in a light brown.   As you see, I was using a paint brush, but I changed to a small roller.  It worked much much better. Completely painted the top and the sides of the canvas a brown color.  Then I let it dry - probably about 30 minutes.  Then pealed off the letters! Here is the finished product: And it's true.  I did tell on her - it was for her own good. :)

Woo Hoo!

So excited that Christmas is coming!  I love the atmosphere of all the love and giving.  I'm in the painting mode for a Christmas craft sale I'm a part of with my new friends. (We have moved to Georgia this past summer.) Here is just the beginning.....for some reason I am all about the Snowfriends. I've made small ones and large porch sitters.  The small signs and Snowfriends will look cute on your three tiered tray or on a shelf.

Cheese Spread with Crackers

Frosty Frog Cheese Spread 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup sour cream 3 to 4 oz. finely grated cheese 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic parsley to taste Place all ingredients in medium bowl.  Use electric mixer to mix all together.   Serve with crackers, celery, carrot sticks.
