I LOVE CHRISTMAS!

I hope you are enjoying this Christmas Season!  I have done a few fun projects.  One of the first of the season was coming up with decorations for our tree.   Mark helped me.  We put our elf hats on, went outside and gathers our materials then sat outside and got creative!  We moved at the end of the summer and we have not unpacked much since we don't know when or where we might go from here.  So instead of finding our Christmas decorations we went with a semi-natural decor.  We gathered lots of pine cones and glittered them unmercifully!  It was fun!  I had some picks of roses and greenery and stuck them in the tree then we put the glittered pine cones on the tree.  We wanted some garland so we found tiny pine cones  added glitter again, then strung them on jute.  I made stars out of vines and jute and put them on the tree, too. Hank added the candy canes, of course!!! It turned out nicely.  The glitter catches the light and is very pretty.  I took a couple of pictures but it

Cute wreath! See the "P" there in the corner?  It is wrapped in yarn.  This is a Holly Creation.  Love it!
Hey, friends!  I have another recipe to share with you.  It was the first try and it was really yum! I did not think to take an up close picture of the dessert, so this picture is really so I can show off two of my favorite guys in my life!  But seriously, the dessert was a big hit - all gone, too.  No more. Pumpkin Love!

Fall fun means pumpkin, cider, cinnamon, leaves, vines, gourds......you know what makes you smile.  We did the pumpkin quest and hayride.  Also threw in a campfire at the request of our grandson.  I will show you the pictures from our adventure then I want to give you a really good recipe for a pumpkin spice cake that is delicious.  I also have been busy with some craft creations so I will show the pics of them, too.    Here we are at the farm.  It was a beautiful day and lots of fun!    Posing with the pumpkins.  Picking out a pumpkin to take home was a job.  Lots to choose from.  All shapes and sizes!  Sister and brother.  Busy getting the pumpkins ready to carve.  Messy business!  Tada!    Proud of his creation.  Can you tell what this is?  Looks pretty good! Mark has a friend with a birthday in October so we baked cupcakes for the occasion.  Red Velvet.  They threw a little party that included a scary walk through the woods, a campfir

Pumpkin - YUM!

Hey,girlfriends!  I have not been able to take the time to blog and I would like to share a little of that with you.  Then I will share my recent pumpkin capers!  grin Some of you know we have been trying to help Kevin, a young man that we have known since he was 5 years old because he and Mark have been in school together and been friends all through elementary school.  Kevin has been with our family on vacations, weekend camping trips, church, lake days, and more through out the years. We moved away, but still tried to keep in touch with him and see him when we could.  A year ago he was in a pretty bad accident and we did not know if he would live, then we did not have much hope he would be able to function in any kind of normal way.  But our God is generous and He gave Kevin a miracle of life and such vast improvement, so much that if you met him today you would not have any idea that he was practically lifeless and broken last October.  Well, Kevin lives with us now.  He came to

Repeat

Pam Poe requested my chicken recipe so I thought I would share with you all again because the way the weather is making us think fall is on the way, we all may be pulling out our crock pots soon! This is so good, so easy, and did I say it's so good?  Get out your crock pot.   Put two skinless, boneless chicken breast on the bottom.  It can still be frozen. Then get you out a can of black beans (rinse and drain). Put that on top of the chicken.  Follow with a can of corn, drained, and a can of Rotel (your favorite type, for there are several).  Now put a block of cream cheese (8 oz. )  on top.  Put the lid on the crock pot, set it on low and cook for 6-8 hours.  I took the chicken out about an hour before we were going to eat and cut it up then put it back in the crock.  It shredded so easily.  Then stirred it up so the cream cheese was throughout it.  You can serve it on rice.  Let me know if you try it and like it. You can double this recipe if you want to have left overs.

Repurposed Picture Frame

Just a quick share time!!!  Because I am busy busy working on another project but I just had to share the perfect gift Mark made for me.  It is an old picture frame, painted and sanded then screen stapled to the back.   Isn't it great?!  Love the color blue, too.  Thank you, Mark!!!!!!

Yum......Cake!

This was a favorite I used to bake quite often back in the 80's.  So I decided it would be a great come back to use to help the Father's Day celebration at our house.  If you decided to bake one for your household, I would suggest you eat just one piece and share the rest.  It is sweeeeeeet! MISSISSIPPI MUD CAKE Cake Ingredients 2 cups sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 stick butter or margarine 1/2 vegetable oil 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1/2 cup water 2 eggs 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup buttermilk 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 bag mini marshmallows Icing 1 stick butter 3 tablespoons cocoa powder 6 tablespoons milk 1 box (1 lb.) powdered sugar *1 cup pecans, chopped 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Preheat oven to 350.  Grease and flour 13X9 pan. Pinterest Crafts

These are two projects my daughter, Lindsey did and has in her home. The form is from Michael Craft Store.  And the "grass" is sold in sheets.  She hot glued the grass onto the form.  It really did not take real long to do.  It looks great! This is burlap cut into strips and accordion folded onto a wire hanger.  Looks great, doesn't it?!

Awesome Day! With My Kids!

Michael Mother's Day......love my family!  We spent the day together (minus Hank -sad face- because he had to work) at Lindsey and Joey's.  Mark and I went to church with them then Holly, Michael, and Caden met us at the DeHart house for lunch.  And it was yummy lunching!  Joey and Michael did most of the prep.  (Applause!!!!) But we all helped! It was a great spread - shrimp, steak, and chicken with all the fixings for tacos.  I'm telling you.....it was good!         Sunday was not only Mother's Day.  It was also Michael's 29th birthday.  Yep.  29! He caught up with me!) We are all singing to him.  See his face?  He is enduring our off-key song! Ha! He liked the "25" candles - I think he chose to ignore the four single candles.   Success!  He blew out all the candles.  I think Caden helped. I will share the recipe because it was really really tasty. STRAWBERRY SWIRL CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE 1 1/2 cups butter, softene
