Getting Busy with my crafting!

It is November!  Which means my cooking and crafting mode seem to really seems to be full on!!  I have been trying new recipes from THM and I have found several really good new meals to add to my list.  And it is good for us!  With the holidays coming soon, the food thing can get out of hand, so hopefully this THM will help me not overdo the sugar.   Crafting is my Jam!!  I really love to create all kinds of things.  Baskets have always been one of my favorites.  You can use them in so many ways.  The green with the holly and berries and the red with the trees and snowflakes are 8 x 8 and work great when putting together gift baskets for those special friends!  I also like to use them for goodies - I will serve muffins in them or pack them with holiday cookies and take them to church!  Or put your Christmas cards that come in the mail this December in them. The other one (it is navy with cranberry and gold) and it is about 11X8.  I got these baskets at a hamper house and when I

October to GO TIME!!!

Can you believe October is almost over?!  And you know what that means..... Time to start thinking of the Thanksgiving plans - where to go, what to cook, and Christmas is next - make my gift lists, get busy with the planning of church, family, and friends gatherings.  I love it all!  I love celebrating Christ with my family and friends.  I love how we have so many opportunities to share the love and grace of Jesus.  So, as I begin to look at all these things I know I want to be purposeful in this special season.  I wish to have time with my kids and grands, to enjoy the laughter and joy.  I want to be with the familiarity, the comfort I find in being with my parents and sister and brothers - a reminder of my foundation of Christ in my life.  AND I want to be the heart of Jesus to my community, my church, my family.  So I am asking God to show me what He would have me to do in the upcoming holiday season.  He has blessed me beyond what I ever imagined.  I want to glorify Him in all that

There is POWER in His Name!

Today I read from Jeremiah 10:6,7  I think I will write out this scripture for you: No one is like You, O Lord; You are the great, and Your name is mighty in power.  Who should not revere You, O King of the nations? This is Your due among all the wise men of the nations and in all their kingdoms, there is no one like You. These few words have much they reveal.  "There is no one like You!"  The phrase, "Your name is mighty in power," really stands out to me.  Simply utter His name!  It brings me much strength when I say His name when I am fearful.  Have you ever found yourself in a place or situation where you feel the fear so much that you can tell it might paralyze you if you don't get a grip?  Oh, I have!!!  And when I speak His name in silence I can literally feel Him hold me up, help me think through what I need to do or even NOT to do.  I can take the steps I need to at that moment.  Let me tell you of a time I thought I would just crumble - I worked at

Twenty Sixteen -

Today is the first Sunday of the New Year.  Incredible!  Our worship leader said he did not believe in making New Year's Resolutions - because usually by day 3 - it's over, done, no longer thought about - for most people.  And then he talked about our weekly day around the Lord's table - that is where we come to resolve to make a change in our life, to ask forgiveness from our mistakes and start anew.  And I completely understand what he was saying - and completely agree.  BUT..... I will still be making some resolutions and plan to surpass the three day sprint!!  Lol!!! My first New Year's Resolution is:   Surrender to God's Will.  I know, I know - I tend to hold tight to my plans, wanting it all to go smoothly and work out great!  (Rare to happen, right?!)  Since I live at the beach - ok, I am 25 minutes away - but closer than I have ever been!!  And I love it!!  Ooo, rabbit trail..... since I live at the beach, my hands are often playing in the sand and I a
