Getting Busy with my crafting!

It is November! Which means my cooking and crafting mode seem to really seems to be full on!! I have been trying new recipes from THM and I have found several really good new meals to add to my list. And it is good for us! With the holidays coming soon, the food thing can get out of hand, so hopefully this THM will help me not overdo the sugar.

Crafting is my Jam!! I really love to create all kinds of things. Baskets have always been one of my favorites. You can use them in so many ways. The green with the holly and berries and the red with the trees and snowflakes are 8 x 8 and work great when putting together gift baskets for those special friends! I also like to use them for goodies - I will serve muffins in them or pack them with holiday cookies and take them to church! Or put your Christmas cards that come in the mail this December in them. The other one (it is navy with cranberry and gold) and it is about 11X8. I got these baskets at a hamper house and when I went back to get some more - gone!!! I bought a dozen and there are only two left now! #Christmasgifts

This is my most recent project. It is a shadowbox with lights and I LOVE it!!! A beautiful snow scene with the deer. I also did a manger scene in a shadowbox that is so sweet. I sold it, but plan to make some more.

Cheese Spread with Crackers

My sister has made this really good spread and I did not realize it was from a local place there in Freehome. This is good stuff! Frosty Frog Cheese Spread 8 oz. cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup sour cream 3 to 4 oz. finely grated cheese 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic parsley to taste Place all ingredients in medium bowl. Use electric mixer to mix all together. Serve with crackers, celery, carrot sticks.

From Twigs to Trees!

OK, girlfriends, I'm ready to show you what I have been working on for weeks and weeks. I told you I was working on something for two special people - it is done! Let me tell you who, what, when, where, and why. For as long as I can remember I have given my girls a "Happy December" present. I just love the Christmas season so much that I am ready to begin the celebration. So on December 1 I would have a gift for my kids. They might come home from school and find a Christmas shirt on their bed or I would present them with Christmas socks or a Christmas trinket, maybe cookie cutters or sticker book. Just something. For fun! This year I made: Grapevine Christmas trees!!!! I had lots of help! My sister, Nancy, Mark, and Hank all helped me gather the vines. Poor Hank got poison twice from helping me find vines! One Month To Live

Have you ever focused on life on those terms.....one month, 30 days, and it is over? There is a book by Kerry and Chris Shook entitled just that. "One Month To Live." If you consider, contemplate, study this aspect of life in an honest for real way - you just might begin to walk a little differently. This past Sunday, my husband introduced this thought of what would we do if we knew we only had one month to live. He passed out 3 X 5 cards and asked everyone to write what they would do. I will tell you the expanded version of what I wrote. 1. I would like to spend time with my family (bonus: at the beach) so I could enjoy the love and laughter and fun we always share. I would want time with my kids so I could tell them how awesome they are, how proud they make me feel because of their heart they each have for God, because of the love they share with one another, and because of the way I see them care for those around them.
