Repeat

Pam Poe requested my chicken recipe so I thought I would share with you all again because the way the weather is making us think fall is on the way, we all may be pulling out our crock pots soon!

This is so good, so easy, and did I say it's so good?  Get out your crock pot.
Put two skinless, boneless chicken breast on the bottom.  It can still be frozen. Then get you out a can of black beans (rinse and drain). Put that on top of the chicken.  Follow with a can of corn, drained, and a can of Rotel (your favorite type, for there are several).  Now put a block of cream cheese (8 oz.) on top.  Put the lid on the crock pot, set it on low and cook for 6-8 hours.  I took the chicken out about an hour before we were going to eat and cut it up then put it back in the crock.  It shredded so easily.  Then stirred it up so the cream cheese was throughout it.  You can serve it on rice.  Let me know if you try it and like it.

You can double this recipe if you want to have left overs.  I double everything but the chicken.  I have used two to three breast and it is lots of chicken throughout.  Sometimes I serve it on rice, but usually just with tostito chips.  Yum!

Sister's Birthday Gift

I just had to do Mark's idea - and he helped me - to make a gift for Nancy for her birthday.  I had seen this little poem about growing up with a sister and thought it was perfect.  So we went to several thrift stores looking for the perfect sized canvas picture and after only two stops - found it! This is the canvas with the letters I stuck on it and I began there in the bottom corner to paint it a dark brown.  The canvas is a golden with thin trees and some words in cursive in a light brown.   As you see, I was using a paint brush, but I changed to a small roller.  It worked much much better. Completely painted the top and the sides of the canvas a brown color.  Then I let it dry - probably about 30 minutes.  Then pealed off the letters! Here is the finished product: And it's true.  I did tell on her - it was for her own good. :)
